EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #180: March 31, 2021
Canada invited 284 Express Entry candidates with provincial nominations to apply for permanent residency in new immigration draw held on March 31, 2021.
Immigration candidates, who obtain a nomination from an Express Entry-aligned PNP, automatically receive 600 points toward their overall CRS score. This is the reason that CRS cut-off score for this invitation round was little high as compared to previous draws.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool, where they are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
A set number of highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was March 16, 2021 at 16:09:32 UTC. This means the PNP candidates who had a CRS score of 778 or more and had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received an invitation in this draw.
Canada continues to hold Express Entry draws targeting candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or those who had successfully applied and received a nomination through a PNP.
If go with the recent trends, there are chances that IRCC might hold an Express Entry round of invitations for CEC candidates within a day or two.
