Alberta released the details of its latest PNP draw conducted on April 29, 2020

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) released details of the latest provincial nominee program (PNP) draw held on April 29, 2020.

A total of 200 Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores as low as 322 received invitations or Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for a provincial nomination in this draw.

If the candidates who received invites in this draw obtain the provincial nomination from AINP, they will automatically be awarded an additional 600 CRS points toward their CRS scores, which will effectively guarantee them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, Alberta is only issuing a provincial nomination to candidates who are already living and working in the province.

However, AINP has also put in place some special coronavirus measures, which give nominees some more flexibility on submission of their documents. Due to service disruptions, AINP is accepting copies of documents as well as those candidates who satisfy the necessary requirements; their file will be held for 60 calendar days.

The Alberta Express Entry Stream

Introduced in 2018, The Alberta Express Entry Stream allows the AINP search the federal Express Entry system for candidates who meet its specific eligibility requirements and invites them to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

In order to be eligible for the Alberta Express Entry Stream, Candidates first need to have a profile in the federal Express Entry system.

They are also required to have work experience in an occupation that supports the province’s economic development and diversification priorities. However, the AINP does not provide a list of eligible occupations.

Alberta has issued 1,407 invitations to Express Entry candidates so far this year!!
