Introduced in 2015, Express Entry system is Canada’s main source of skilled foreign workers. It organizes immigration applications for three federal immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades (FST), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

In order to be considered for these programs, a candidate need to first submit an Express Entry profile to the pool of candidates. All eligible candidates are ranked against one another based on a CRS score which assigns each candidate a score out of 1200 points on the basis of factors such as age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French.

IRCC then invites a set number of the highest-ranked candidates from the pool to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws.

The regular draws Express Entry conducted by Canada immigration definitely removed the uncertainty among aspirants that whether due travel restrictions imposed by the Federal Government, IRCC will continue holding Express Entry rounds of invitations or not.

The Government of Canada have made it quite clear that Canada is still inviting, accepting and processing permanent residence applications.
