EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW (CEC) #152: June 11, 2020
In latest Express Entry draw for immigration to Canada held on June 11, a total of 3559 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 437 issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence.
The invitation round was restricted to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates only.
The minimum CRS cut-off score threshold drawn in this invitation round is the Lowest CRS for CEC candidates since 2017. It is a decrease of three points from the previous CEC draw, which was conducted on May 28 and had a minimum score of 440.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied a tie break in this draw and the time stamp used was May 25, 2020, at 00:31:43 UTC. This means that all CEC candidates with a CRS score of at least 437, who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before the said date and time, received an ITA in this invitation round.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool, where they are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
A set number of highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.
Despite Canada’s special coronavirus-related measures in place, both the federal government and Canadian provinces continue to hold immigration draws to invite more people to submit their applications for Canadian permanent residence. In fact IRCC has held a total of thirteen Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program specific Express Entry draws since March 18.
June 11 drawbrings the total number of ITAs issued by IRCC so far in 2020 to 46,000.
Invited CEC candidates now have 60 days to submit their complete applications for Canadian permanent residence to IRCC.
