The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 367 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in its biggest Skilled Worker in Manitoba PNP stream draw of 2021 on April 27.

Majority of invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), issued in this draw went to immigration candidates who have job offers in skilled occupations in the province.

• Total LAAs issued: 301
• EOI Score: 440

b) Skilled Workers Overseas

• Total LAAs issued: 11
• EOI Score: 721

c) International Education Stream

Out of total invitations issued, 34 went to Express Entry candidates.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is one of the most popular of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs, or PNPs. Through the MPNP, Manitoba nominates newcomers for permanent resident status in the prairie province.

There are three major streams under the MPNP that offer foreign skilled workers a pathway to settle in Canada permanently – Skilled Workers Overseas Stream, Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream, and International Education Stream.

In order to apply under both the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories, applicants need to first register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP.

These EOI profiles are scored on the Manitoba points’ grid out of a total score of 1,000 based on their human capital characteristics including their English or French language skills, work experience, education, Manitoba connections, and other factors.

Candidates with the highest scores are then invited to apply for provincial nomination through regular draws conducted by the MPNP.

Express Entry Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points and are effectively guaranteed an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in subsequent Express Entry Draw.

Manitoba has now invited 2,636 PNP candidates to apply for a provincial nomination so far in 2021.
