Ontario issued 307invitations or Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to Express Entry candidates in latest French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream (FSSW) draw held on April 30.

It was not only the largest FSSW draw conducted by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) so far this year but was also the second Express Entry-linked draw in two days. The previous draw that was conducted on April 29 targeted immigration candidates in 14 skills trades’ occupations.

Ontario Express Entry: French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream (FSSW) allows the OINP to search Express Entry pool and target French-Speaking foreign skilled workers with strong English language abilities who are looking to settle in the province of Ontario.

In order to receive nomination under the FSSW, candidates need to meet the eligibility requirements of the Canadian Experience Class, or the Federal Skilled Worker Program along with having a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of at least 7 in French and 6 in English among other requirements.

Candidates, who receive a provincial nomination from Ontario, obtain an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points towards their overall score. This would effectively increase their chances to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

These invited candidates will be now have 45 days to apply online for their provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence to OINP.
