Canada’s immigration department – The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a new Express Entry round of invitations on May 20, 2021.
A total of 1,842 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates received invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence!
Eligible candidates only needed aminimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Scoreof 397 to receive an invitation in this draw. This is the second lowest CRS cutoff score in the history of Express Entry since the February 13 draw, which had the CRS scorerequirement of just 75.
The IRCC applied the tie-break rule in this draw. Only those CEC candidates with minimumCRS of 397 who had submitted their Express Entry profile before April 24, 2021 at 12:09:24 UTC received an invite in this draw.
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a popular immigration category of Express Entry System, which is designed for foreign workers who have at least one year of full-time (or an equivalent in part-time) skilled, professional or technical work experience in Canada within the last three years and who wish to become permanent residents.
Eligible candidates need to first create an online Express Entry profile and receive an ITA before they can make an application for Canadian permanent residency.
CEC is an ideal route to Canadian permanent residency for international students as it offers them the fastest and most simple path to achieving permanent residence after completing a program or course of study at a Canadian educational institution and acquiring required work experience.
Canada has invited 68,317 Express Entry candidates so far in 2021. Whereas by this time in 2020, the number of ITAS issued was just 38,200.
In order to meet its target of admitting 401,000 new immigrants in 2021, IRCC has been holding CEC and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-specific draws as these candidates are most likely already in Canada.
