The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued another 256 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian Permanent Residency to immigration candidates in a new draw held on December 8.
The invitations went to candidates through its five immigration subcategories of Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams
The minimum score requirements in this invitation round ranged between 77 and 97 points based on the immigration sub-category.
Breakdown of the Minimum Scores:
- SI – Skilled Worker: 95
- SI – International Graduate: 95
- SI – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled: 77
- EEBC – Skilled Worker: 97
- EEBC – International Graduate: 97
The Express Entry BC (EEBC) Category is a popular stream of BCPNP that allows province to search & invite qualified candidates with a valid profile in the Federal Express Entry system – the most popular pathway for skilled immigrants to obtain Canadian permanent residence.
The Skills Immigration Category of BCPNP is designed for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in the province.
In order to receive an invitation for provincial nomination through the EEBC, candidates need to be registered under both the federal Express Entry system and B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) whereas Skills Immigration candidates only have to be registered with the SIRS.
All invited candidates under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry categories had an indeterminate, full-time job offer with an employer in B.C.
Candidates invited under the EEBC: Skilled Worker and EEBC: International Graduate categories will automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points toward their comprehensive ranking system (CRS) scores, if their applications get approved by BCPNP. This effectively guaranties them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Federal Express Entry Draw.
Applicants, who received an invitation in this draw, now have to submit a complete application via the BC PNP Online Registration System within 30 calendar days from the date of invitation.
British Columbia has now invited around 9,000 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination so far in 2020 through its various PNP categories and streams.
