Canada invited 787 Express Entry candidates with CRS score of at least 782 to apply for permanent residency (PR)
Canada invited another 787 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residency (PR) in new immigration draw held on April 13, 2022.
Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for PR were issued to candidates, who had previously received a nomination from an Express-Entry aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 782.
Express-Entry with a provincial nomination, get automatic 600 points added to their CRS score. Therefore, the CRS score cut-off for PNP-specific Express Entry draws is usually quite high.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was April 07, 2022 at 16:31:21 UTC. This means the PNP candidates who had a CRS score of 782 or more and had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received an invitation in this draw.
Express Entry System
Express Entry is a system adopted by Canadian Government to manage applications for Canadian permanent residence through three economic immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades.
The system boasts efficient processing time, with majority of applications being processed between six to eight months.
How does it work?
- In brief, candidates are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by creating a profile in Express Entry portal summarizing their skills and credentials including age, education, language, work experience, and others.
- Following submission, eligible candidates are entered into a pool of applicants, where Comprehensive Ranking System will be automatically applicable and applicants will be ranked on a scale of 1200 points.
- The highly ranked candidates will then be invited to apply for permanent residency as a skilled immigrant through regular draws from the pool by IRCC.
Since September 2021, IRCC has only been inviting PNP candidates in Express Entry draws. A total of 7,257 PNP candidates have received invitations to apply so far in 2022.
