The Canadian province of Ontario invited 510 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination under the Skilled Trades Stream in new immigration draw conducted on February 9, 2023.

This draw declared comprehensive ranking system (CRS) cut off score range of 260-489 and issued the Notification of Interests (NOIs) to Express Entry profiles created in just 5 Occupations/NOCs.

  1. Supervisors, motor transport and other ground transit operators – NOC 72024
  2. Welders and related machine operators – NOC 72106
  3. Telecommunications line and cable installers and repairers – NOC 72204
  4. Carpenters – NOC 72310
  5. Painters and decorators (except interior decorators) – NOC 73112

 Moving forward, this OINP draw considered Express Entry profiles created between February 9, 2022 – February 9, 2023.

Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program – the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) allows the province to select and nominate eligible foreign workers, international students and others with the required skills, experience and education for a nomination for permanent residence in Ontario.

Express Entry candidates, who received a provincial nomination from OINP or any other Express Entry aligned PNP, automatically get 600 additional points towards their overall CRS score. This almost confirms them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in Federal Express Entry Draws.

Candidates, who received an invitation in this immigration draw, now have 45 calendar days to submit their complete application for provincial nomination to OINP.
