Ontario invited 772 Express Entry candidates for provincial nomination in new PNP draw on 15 October

Ontario

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) held new Tech Draw on 15 October inviting Express Entry candidates with work experience in one of six tech occupations.

Total 772 Express Entry candidates received invitations or Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for a provincial nomination in this invitation round.

Invitations were issued to candidates under the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream of OINP.

In order to be invited in this draw, Express Entry candidates needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 462 and 470.

Invited candidates needed at least one year of work experience in one of the following occupations:

  • NOC 0213 Computer and information systems managers
  • NOC 2147 Computer engineers
  • NOC 2172 Database analysts and data administrators
  • NOC 2173 Software engineers and designers
  • NOC 2174 Computer programmer and interactive media developers
  • NOC 2175 Web designers and developers

Candidates, who wish to be considered for selection by the OINP through its Human Capital Priorities Stream or any of its Express Entry streams, are required to first submit a profile in the Express Entry pool.

The OINP regularly searches Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Express Entry pool to find eligible candidates who meet the criteria of one of Ontario’s Express Entry immigration streams and then invite them to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws.

Express Entry candidates, who receive a provincial nomination, get additional 600 points towards their CRS score, which effectively increase their chances to get an ITA for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.

Candidates, who received the NOI in this draw, now have 45 calendar days to submit their application for the provincial nomination to OINP.
