Canada’s most popular province – Ontario invited 749 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residency in three Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws on February 9, 2022.

The invitations went to workers with relevant work experience in trades, health, and agriculture occupations under Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s (OINP) Employer Job Offer – Foreign Worker and In-Demand skills streams.

Breakdown of Invitations

Out of total invitations issued, 476 were issued to candidates from trade occupations received invites under the Foreign Worker stream. Another 166 Foreign Worker stream candidates were invited in a general draw. There remaining 107 went to candidates under In-Demand Skills Stream.

Candidates who received invitations under the Foreign Worker stream were required to have work experience in one of the 41 targeted occupations, which included Mechanical engineering technologists and technicians, Contractors and supervisors, Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, Heavy-duty equipment mechanics, Crane operators, among others.

OINP targeted 22 health, agricultural, trades and manufacturing occupations for the In-Demand skills stream draw. Invitations went to Home support workers, Nurse Aides, Construction trades helpers, farm workers, Machining tool operators, Electronics assemblers, among others.

Ontario’s PNP – the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) allows the province to select and nominate eligible foreign workers, international students and others with the required skills, experience and education for a nomination for permanent residence in Ontario.
