Australia invited 750 immigration candidates to apply for PR in its First SkillSelect invitation round for the 2021-2022 financial year

Australia has announced results of its First Skill Select invitation round for the 2021-2022 financial year.

The draw that was conducted on 26 July, 2021, invited a total of 750 immigration candidates under the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored visa streams to apply for Australian Permanent Residency.

Invitations issued and cut offs

Out of total invitations issued, 500 went to candidates under Subclass 189 and remaining 250 under the Subclass 491 visa category.

Point scores and the dates of effect cut off for the pro rata occupations in the 26 July, 2021 invitation round

Pro-rata occupations include occupations for which there is more demand for places than there are places available.

SkillSelect first allocates available places to Skilled – Independent visas (subclass 189) and then the remaining to Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored. If in case all places are taken up by subclass 189 visas then no invitations will be issued for subclass 491 visas in these occupations.

 Due to high demand, the following two of the pro-rata Engineering occupations received invites this round:
