EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #202: August 19, 2021

Canada invited 3,000 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates to apply for permanent residence in new Express Entry Draw held on August 19.

In order to get an invitation in this draw, candidates needed to have Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 403.

Only those CEC candidates with minimum CRS score of 403, who had submitted their Express Entry profiles before August 01, 2021 at 10:13:57 UTC, received invitations in this draw as per the tie-break rule applied by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration category for foreign workers who have at least one year of full-time (or an equivalent in part-time) skilled, professional or technical work experience in Canada within the last three years and who wish to become permanent residents.

It is an ideal route to Canadian permanent residency for international students as it offers them the fastest and most simple path to achieving permanent residence after completing a program or course of study at a Canadian educational institution and acquiring required work experience.

CEC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

In order to be eligible to apply under CEC, applicants must:

  • have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equivalent in part-time) skilled, professional or technical work experience one or more occupations classified as skill type 0, A or B under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) in Canada within the last three years of making application;
  • meet the required language proficiency level equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 7 if their job falls under NOC 0 or A or 5 if their job falls under NOC B; and
  • plan on living and working outside the province of Quebec.

IRCC has conducted total 32 Express Entry draws so far in 2021. Total 105,779 invitations have been issued to CEC and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, which is almost double the number of ITAs issued at the same time last year.
