The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited a total of 496 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residency in new immigration draw conducted on August 19.
The invitations were issued to candidates who may be eligible for the SINP’s Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand sub-categories.
DISTRIBUTION OF INVITATIONS
Out of total invites issued, 161 went to candidates under SINP’s Express Entry Subcategory while the remaining 335 candidates secured invitations through Occupations In-Demand Subcategory.
In order to receive an invitation, Express Entry candidates needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 71 while candidates under Occupations in Demand subcategory had a slightly smaller cutoff requirement of 70 points.
Stream | Total Invitations issued | Minimum EOI Score |
---|---|---|
Express Entry | 161 | 71 |
Occupations in Demand | 335 | 70 |
In this draw, there were different eligible occupations for each immigration stream. Invitations were issued to Express Entry candidates who had work experience in one of the 43 occupations whereas there were 61 eligible occupations in the draw for Occupations in Demand candidates.
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, or SINP, allows the province to nominate qualified immigration candidates with skills required in its labour market.
Express Entry and In-Demand Occupation sub-categories are two prominent streams within the SINP for individuals who have education and work experience in a high-skilled and in-demand occupation.
While a minimum of one year of full-time work experience is essential to apply for both of its subcategories, a job offer or work experience in Canada is not required.
If invited Express Entry candidates successfully receive a nomination from the SINP, they will get an additional 600 points toward their overall CRS score, which will increase their chances to receive an invitation to apply (ITA in Federal Express Entry draw.
