EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #163: September 16, 2020
Canada held latest all-program Express Entry draw for immigration to Canada on September 16.
A total 4,200 immigration candidates received Invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence in this round of invitations.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement for this draw was set at 472 points, which is a reduction of three points less than the previous all-program draw held September 2.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool, where they are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
A set number of highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied a tie break in this draw and the time stamp used was March 9, 2020, at 13:03:40 UTC. This means that all candidates with a CRS score of and above 472, who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before the said date and time, received an ITA in this invitation round.
This draw brings the total number of ITAs issued by IRCC so far this year to 74,150 – a new record for this date.
