The Canadian province of Ontario invited 1902 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in new immigration draw conducted on February 2, 2023.
OINP announced two draws under Human Capital Priorities stream targeting at Express Entry profiles created with 9 Tech and 42 Healthcare occupations/NOCs.
Date NOIs issued | Number of NOIs issued | CRS score range | Profiles created in IRCC Express Entry system |
---|---|---|---|
February 2, 2023 | 1,127 | 481-489 | February 2, 2022 – February 2, 2023 |
February 2, 2023 | 775 | 476-489 | February 2, 2022 – February 2, 2023 |
OINP logically decided the CRS cut off score between 476-489 for Healthcare and 481-489 for Tech occupations.
Invited candidates can wait for those draws before accepting the OINP NOIs, rather than burning the spot for Express Entry profiles with low CRS scores.
Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program – the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) allows the province to select and nominate eligible foreign workers, international students and others with the required skills, experience and education for a nomination for permanent residence in Ontario.
Express Entry candidates, who received a provincial nomination from OINP or any other Express Entry aligned PNP, automatically get 600 additional points towards their overall CRS score. This almost confirms them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in Federal Express Entry Draws.
Candidates, who received an invitation in this immigration draw, now have 45 calendar days to submit their complete application for provincial nomination to OINP.
