The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited 418 new immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residency in its latest immigration draw held on March 24.

Out of total invitations issued, 183 went to Express Entry candidates and another 235 were issued to Occupations In-Demand candidates.

In order to be invited in this draw, candidates from both sub-categories needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 70 points on the SINP’s Points Assessment Grid.

Stream Total Invitations issued Minimum EOI Score
Express Entry 183 70
Occupations In-Demand 235 70

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, or SINP, allows the province to nominate qualified immigration candidates with skills required in its labour market. Express Entry and In-Demand Occupation sub-categories are two prominent streams within the SINP for individuals who have education and work experience in a high-skilled and in-demand occupation.

While a minimum of one year of full-time work experience is essential to apply for both of its subcategories, a job offer or work experience in Canada is not required.

In order to apply for a provincial nomination through either of these streams, candidates need to first register an EOI profile with the SINP.

Eligible EOIs are then awarded a score out of 100 based on the SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid, which allot them points based on their work experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province.

The highest-scoring candidates are then issued an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residency through regular draws conducted by the SINP.

Express Entry candidates, who obtain a nomination through the SINP’s Express Entry sub-category, receive additional 600 points toward their CRS scores, effectively increasing their chances to get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.
