EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #167: November 18, 2020
Canada conducted the largest Express Entry draw ever on November 18, 2020.
A total of 5,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residency were issued to immigration candidates in this draw
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in this latest invitation round was 471 – a reduction of 6 points over the previous all-program draw held on November 5, 2020.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool, where they are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
A set number of highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.
Candidates from all Express Entry programs were eligible for this round of invitations.
This invitation round saw the tie-breaking rule implemented on October 27, 2020 at 06:18:11 UTC. This means that all candidates with a CRS score of and above 472, who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before the said date and time, received an ITA in this invitation round.
This draw brings the total number of ITAs issued to Express entry candidates so far in 2020 to 92,350, which is the highest number of ITAs issued ever.
The large number of ITAs is in line with Canada’s commitment to welcome over 400,000 new permanent residents in 2021.
