Express Entry Draw #228 –August 3, 2022
Canada invited 2000 immigration candidates to apply for PR in a new Express Entry Draw
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 2,000 immigration candidates to apply for permanent residency in new Express Entry draw held on August 3, 2022.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) requirement for this draw was 533 – a full nine points lower than the previous draw that occurred on July 20.
The draw considered candidates in all Express Entry programs: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades (FST).
IRCC also applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp was set for January 06, 2022 at 14:29:50 UTC. If more than one candidate has the lowest CRS score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their profiles in the Express Entry pool.
Express Entry System
Express Entry is a system adopted by the Canadian Government to manage applications for Canadian permanent residence through three economic immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades.
The system boasts efficient processing time, with the majority of applications being processed between six to eight months.
How does it work?
- In brief, candidates are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by creating a profile in the Express Entry portal summarizing their skills and credentials including age, education, language, work experience, and others.
- Following the submission, eligible candidates are entered into a pool of applicants, where the Comprehensive Ranking System will be automatically applicable and applicants will be ranked on a scale of 1200 points.
- The highly ranked candidates will then be invited to apply for permanent residency as skilled immigrants through regular draws from the pool by IRCC.
