EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW (PNP) #156: July 22, 2020
Canada conducted another Express Entry Draw for immigration to Canada on June 22.
Total 557 Express Entry candidates, who had previously obtained a nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) received invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence in this draw.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement for this draw was 687.
A provincial nomination awards an additional 600 points to applicants toward their overall CRS score. This means candidates who received invites in this round would have needed a score of just 87 points for their human capital without the provincial nomination.
A tie-break rule, that is used to rank candidates who have the same CRS score, was applied in this draw by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The time stamp used was November 11, 2019 at 8:51:21 UTC., which means all PNP candidates with a CRS score of at least 687 who had submitted their profiles into Express Entry pool before this time and date, received an ITA in this draw.
This was the 9th PNP-specific draw since Canada announced special coronavirus measures restricting travel on March 18.
Canada is very much on right track to achieve its Express Entry target of issuing 85,800 ITAs in 2020. The government of Canada has already issued 54,357 ITAs so far this year.
