Prince Edward Island (PEI) released details of its three PNP draws

Prince Edward Island

The province of Prince Edward Island (PEI) has released details of its three draws conducted under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) since special coronavirus measures were put in place.

Through these three draws, PEI PNP only issued invites to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates who were working in an essential service including healthcare or trucking.

Therefore, only 29 candidates were issued invitations for provincial nomination for Canada permanent residency over the course of the three draws.

No invitation were issued to Business Impact candidates in these three Expression of Interest (EOI) draws.

The breakdown of invites is as follows:

Draw date Total invitations issued
March 23,2020 5
April 27,2020 10
May 15,2020 14

The PEI PNP did not provide the information on how many Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates were invited, nor the minimum EOI score required for each category.

In line with the federal government special immigration measures to deal with COVID-19 pandemic, the regular draws conducted by many provinces can be considered as a positive development in Canadian immigration.
