Over 500 immigration candidates are now one more step closer of achieving their dream of getting Canadian permanent residency.

In its latest draw held on December 1, 2020, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited total 564 candidates through its two immigration subcategories: Express Entry, and Occupations In-Demand.

DISTRIBUTION OF INVITATIONS

Immigration stream Total Invitations issued Minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score requirement
Express Entry 138 74
Occupations In-Demand 426 74

The invitations were sent out to immigration candidates who had work experience in one of 86 occupations.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) allows the province to nominate qualified foreign workers who have the potential to thrive in Saskatchewan to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

It is also one of the easiest Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) to apply as a job offer or work experience in Canada is not required to qualify. However, candidates need to have minimum one year of full-time work experience to apply for both of its subcategories – Express Entry and Occupation in Demand.

In order to apply for a provincial nomination through either of these streams, candidates need to first register an EOI profile with the SINP.

Eligible EOIs are then awarded a score out of 100 based on the SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid, which allot them points based on their work experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province.

High-scoring candidates are then invited to apply for provincial nomination through regular draws conducted by the SINP.

Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination get an additional 600 points toward their overall CRS score, which effectively guarantees them an invitation in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
