Saskatchewan invited 279 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian Permanent Residency in a new draw held on April 8.

The invitations were issued to candidates from the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program’s (SINP) International Skilled Worker category.

DISTRIBUTION OF INVITATIONS

Out of total invites issued, 146 went to candidates under SINP’s Express Entry Subcategory while the remaining 133 candidates secured invitations through Occupations In-Demand Subcategory.

In order to be invited in this draw, candidates under both these subcategories needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 70.

Subcategory Total Invitations Issued Minimum EOI Score
Express Entry 146 70
Occupations In-Demand 133 70

Invitations were issued to candidates who had work experience in one of the 58 in-demand occupations that include Senior Managers, Medical laboratory Technicians, Medical administrative assistants, Social Workers and Educational Counselors among others.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, or SINP, allows the province to nominate qualified foreign workers to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

It is also one of the easiest Provincial Nominee Programs to apply. While a minimum of one year of full-time work experience is essential to apply for both of its subcategories – Express Entry and Occupation in Demand, a job offer or work experience in Canada is not required.

Express Entry candidates, who obtain a nomination through the SINP’s Express Entry sub-category, receive additional 600 points toward their overall Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores, effectively increasing their chances to get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.
